Snoop Dogg Fights Cybercrime, Fo Shizzle

Snoop Dogg and I have something in common. no, it's not the Crips or the blunts or the rap or even the ho's. Nope. it turns out we both hate cybercrime. who would have known? And to show his grave distaste for crime of the cyber kind, Snoop has partnered with Norton for the “Hack is Wack” Cybercrime Rap Contest, which begins today and runs until 11:59pm ET on September 30, 2010.

Contestants are encouraged to rap about notorious botnets, drive-by-downloads, keystroke loggers, malware and rogue security software. the music video can be up to two minutes in length, and will be judged based on originality, creativity and how well rappers convey the anti-cybercrime message.

  • Two (2) tickets to see Snoop Dog in concert
  • Opportunity to meet with Snoop’s management or agent
  • A $1,000 travel stipend, awarded in the form of airline vouchers
  • Hotel accommodations for two days and one night
  • A Toshiba laptop

The site encourages contestants to keep the content "clean." I guess that means putting the "izzle" in dat shiznit. (Ok. I'm way too white to be writing this.)

The names of winners will be available after October 20, 2010, on the Hack is Whack web site. Good luck.
