Um i have Symantec Endpoint protection Version 11.0.1000.1375 and my Microsoft Windows Security Alerts Says its not on even though Symantec says it is. is something wrong with my Computer
I have Windows XP on
You have 2 programs in conflict, Windows Security Alert & Symantec work separately.
Theres nothing wrong with your computer, make sure you have Windows Service pack 3 installed, which should stop the security alert.
Also if you go to the control & settings page & choose windows firewall or security option you can configure the windows alert to recognise you have made your own choice of protection program.
But theres nothing to worry about, you have to realise that having one or more security program installed on your computer will cause conflict .
That is they may not work completely correctly & also they will use as lot of your computers memory up, making the machine quite slow !
No, nothing is wrong.
Windows security center is simply ****, simple as that. It will nag you about useless things, won't even recognize a lot of anti-viruses and firewalls and then report back that you don't even have them installed...
If i were you, i d disable it :
1. start / run...
2. Type : services.msc
3. Press Enter
4. Double click on Security Center
5. At Startup type, select Disabled
6. Apply / Ok
7. Restart
Hope it helped.
