I am asking a stupid question since I know the answer to this. I am cutting down on funds right now and would like to replace the firewall I have at my home with a new one. Currently I am using the open source Smoothwall Express 3.0 firewall.
I only had it there because I had a VoIP (asterisk) server there for quite a while and now I moved it to my office which uses a sonicwall router. I am debating whether I should buy a linksys wrt54g and flash it with dd-wrt or Tomato firmware or just pay an extra $20 for a router that has a much better firewall.Best hardware firewall for home network. The standard linksys firewalls are garbage. I am very good with picking out firewalls that cost hundreds of dollars 
but
I do not need such a thing at my house. I want to spend as little as possible right now until the economy starts getting better. any suggestions?
