Get More Virtual with Lakeside

Lakeside Software has been in the business of management solutions for over 13 years. From its headquarters in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Lakeside provides solutions for Green IT, virtualization, and power-management needs.Just a few days ago, the company unveiled its alliance with VMware. This alliance will allow Lakeside’s clients to implement desktop virtualization with VMware View. VMware Professional Services Partners all over the globe can now use Lakeside’s SysTrack software to propel their desktop-virtualization plans. SysTrack software is a tool for simplifying workstation and server management. It helps in monitoring and streamlining application performance and system operation. its main selling points are its ability to provide real-time monitoring and diagnostic abilities. These capabilities are due to its Blackbox Data Recorder, which provides critical information pertaining to memory leaks, applications operating on machines, unauthorized web visits, and so on. It also aids in asset tracking and inventory management. With this feature, the client can get comprehensive hardware and software inventory listings and can also keep track of changes. The software is also equipped to relay alerts, via audio or emails, regarding any change in the system. Availability reporting is another major feature of SysTrack. all monitored systems and applications within its fold are automatically observed for downtime and uptime, and operations are streamlined accordingly. SysTrack also has the ability to actively monitor systems and to store historical information on all components of the IT network, including disks, the network itself, systems, and processes. With this feature, the IT manager can look at all the events that have taken place on the network and can analyze them and put corrective measures in place. SysTrack’s application intelligence capacity provides the user with knowledge of how applications actually perform in a given environment. The construction of realistic application usage model is possible because SysTrack locates application resource usage, patterns, and reports on issues that may arise during the monitoring process.  The software yields benefits for the client by delivering savings in application and desktop costs, capacity planning, scalability through its SysTrack Distributed Architecture, enhanced system security, and measurement of end-user latency, to name just a few.

SysTrack can scale to more than 100,000 systems. Thin-client servers, standard servers, and desktops can easily be monitored from a single console. This feature results in lower overhead and the ability to structure expansion plans. With its ability to deliver 800 “out of the box” web-enabled HTML reports, SysTrack is capable of giving formal evaluation data in customizable formats. In the event of an incident, precious time is often lost in the analysis phase. an IT manager has to scan all components of his IT network to ascertain what went wrong. In effect, he has to run through various areas like the database, network, users, and so on. SysTrack simplifies this process by analyzing system performance, and the “per process” Blackbox Data Recorder locates and reports on precisely which component failed and the reason behind that failure. Clients in the businesses of automobile manufacturing, agriculture, construction equipment, finance, and computers have already benefited from SysTrack.Companies like RES Software, Agilysys, INX, and Mainline Information Systems have deployed SysTrack in their operations in various capacities. Each of these companies enjoys specific benefits. INX, for instance stated that SysTrack delivered an increase in sales and a decrease in “implementation time frames.” RES achieved VDI goals and enhanced user workspace management. Agilysys shortened its sales cycle and enhanced adoption. Mainline Information Systems was able to pass on benefits like better planning and decision making. As Andy Knosp, senior director of VMware, avers, SysTrack is a robust tool and is not only capable of demonstrating the most favorable path to virtualization, but it also can provide tools and measures to validate the same. It can also accelerate a move to cloud computing. a couple of months ago, Lakeside also announced that its Lakeside Software SysTrack solutions had been awarded the Certificate of Networthiness from the US Army Network Enterprise Technology Command.
