Project will Update Fiber Optic back Bone and Duct Bank system at 52 Bases
06:43 GMT, August 26, 2010 ASHBURN, Va. | The Air National Guard (ANG) has awarded a new task order to Telos Corporation to conduct an outside Plant (OSP) Information Transport system (ITS) modernization at 52 ANG sites across the country. The project will result in the installation of an integrated, structured, high-bandwidth cabling system with sufficient information transport capability to support the Guard’s current and future mission requirements. “Telos will utilize its proven OSP survey and implementation methodology in order to provide enhanced ITS capabilities for the Guard,” said Ronnie Clark, director of Air National Guard programs for Telos’ Secure Networks division. “The methodology is based on ISO procedures and will leverage our substantial experience with this type of project, resulting in the best possible value for our customer.
” Telos serves as a prime contractor on the five-year, $9 billion Network Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) contract vehicle. NETCENTS is an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract that provides the Air Force, the Department of Defense and other federal agencies with a single vehicle through which to buy network-centric information technologies, networking equipment, and services, as well as voice, video and data communications hardware and software and telephony solutions from preferred contractors. NETCENTS provides a proven competitive edge for the federal government by reducing the time-to-market for critical networking and communications equipment and services.
