I am currently having trouble browsing some pages and both FireFox and Internet Explorer are unable to get them to load.
In Firefox I get the "The connection was reset" error, in Internet Explorer I get the "cannot find server - The page cannot be displayed"
Both browsers have direct connection to the Internet in options (has been for years). Scanned the PC for viruses and ad/malware. Hosts file only has localhost. Flushed DNS using ipconfig /flushdns. Changed the DNS settings of my router to OpenDNS. tried Treewalk DNS.
All firewalls disabled and not running any security software like Norton. Cookies, cache and browsing history cleared.
The thing is, it is only on this PC in my network that some of these pages aren't loading and they are popular pages such as CNN, BBC... even entering the site's IP address directly doesn't work and gets me the same error messages in either browser.
You need to check the actual internet connection, not your computer settings.
Browsing FF: the connection was reset, IE: the page cannot be displayed?
